Our Story — Established in Faith
(Since 1987)
Founded as a house prayer meeting between friends, Word of Victory Christian Fellowship & Bible School was born out of a desire to see lives transformed through the Truth of God’s Word. From a small gathering of believers in Tiernaboul, Killarney, the church has grown into a thriving community united by faith in Christ alone - a church family united in one accord by the power of God’s Holy Spirit according to Acts chapter two verse forty.
For over three decades what began in Pastor Joe and Breda Lyne’s home in 1987, WOV has served as a spiritual hub for people across Kerry, Cork, and Limerick - and today, the ministry reaches even further through online teachings, outreaches, and podcasts.
Rose Blackwell now serves as Senior Pastor under the oversight of the Board of Trustees and the Headship of Jesus Christ on this amazing journey seeing the message of the Gospel message reach far and wide.
Through prayer, worship, and Bible teaching, that small gathering grew into a vibrant community — a family of faith that continues to shine God’s light across Ireland and beyond.
Over the years, we’ve seen countless testimonies of healings, restoration, and transformation.
Our story is not just about a church — it’s about people finding freedom, peace, and purpose and vision for their future through the Living Word of God according to Jeremiah twenty nine verse eleven – “For I know the plans I have for you…plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a Hope…says the Lord”.
Our Mission & Vision
We choose and aim to always walk in:
-
THE LOVE OF GOD OVER HATE
-
MERCY, REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS OVER STRIFE AND BITTERNESS
-
RIGHTEOUSNESS, UPRIGHTNESS AND HOLINESS OVER SINFULNESS
-
MORALITY OVER DEBAUCHERY
-
LIFE OVER DEATH
-
LIGHT OVER DARKNESS
-
THE JOY OF THE LORD OVER DESPAIR
-
TRUTHFULNESS, TRANSPARENCY AND INTEGRITY OVER LIES OR DECEIT

Our Belief
Jesus declared, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the
second is like it:
‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
Matthew
Statement of Faith
-
The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead
-
The Sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement
-
The Divine inspiration and infallibility of the Holy Scriptures as originally given and it’s supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct
-
The full Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God, the virgin birth, and His real and sinless humanity, His death on the Cross, His bodily resurrection and His present reign in Heaven and on Earth
-
Redemption from the guilt penalty and the power of sin only through the sacrificial death once and for all time of our Representative and Substitute Jesus Christ the Only Mediator between God and man
-
Justification of God’s act of undeserved mercy in which the sinner is pardoned all his sins, and accepted as righteous in God’s sight only because of the righteousness of Christ imputed to him, this justification being received by faith alone.
-
The need for the Holy Spirit to make the work of Christ effective to the individual sinner granting him repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ
-
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all those thus regenerated, producing in them an increasing likeness to Christ in character and behaviour, and empowering them for their witness in the world
-
The one holy universal Church which is the Body of Christ and to which all true believers belong
-
The future personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ Who will judge all men, executing God’s just condemnation on the impenitent, and receiving the redeemed to eternal glory
-
Water baptism, which is an ordinance of the church, symbolising to the world that one has died with Jesus and has also been raised with Him in resurrection power to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48) symbolising (Romans 6:4-11; and Ephesians 2:6)
-
The Lord’s Supper which is an ordinance of the church symbolising the broken Body and shed Blood of Jesus Christ as the New Covenant between God and man (1st Corinthians 11:24-28)
-
The evidence of the infilling of the Holy Ghost, which is the promise of the Father, is the physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service after the new birth (Acts 2:4; Acts 19:2-6; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:42-43; Matthew 3:11; 1st Corinthians 12:7-11)
