Known by God in the Womb

“When will you finally catch on? Is He deaf - the One who made your ears? Is He blind - the One who formed your eyes? He punishes the nations - won’t He also punish you? He knows everything - doesn’t He also know what you are doing?” (Psalm 94:9-10).
Welcome back dear student, we sure are living in perilous times (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Jesus warned ‘when you hear of wars and rumours of wars…look up for your Salvation draws near’ (Luke 21:9-36). There’s always going to be chaos in the world friend, for the god of this world is Satan, the most divisive, destructive, lying tyrant, and manipulator (2 Corinthians 4:4). When people are influenced by, or aligned with him, curse, instability, and wickedness result.
It’s wonderful to see the dear people of Iran celebrating freedom from that oppressive and brutal regime, praise God, we pray for Salvation and Peace. We pray for protection for those caught up in the conflict, for those living in the nations surrounding Iran; and for those working to deliver our world from the threat of terror (Psalm 46; Psalm 121). Thank You Father for exposing the works of darkness, in Jesus’ Name (Ephesians 5:8-11).
On our own shores, it has been distressing to hear in the news of the number of babies who were born alive after abortion procedures here. Mattie McGrath TD who requested this information from the HSE, found out the number stands at one hundred and eight from 2019 to 2023. No doubt many more in the intervening years. Since abortion was legalised in Ireland seven years ago, almost SIXTY thousand babies have been terminated here. Terminated is a benign word for brutality conducted in the privacy of the womb, unseen by the naked eye - hence it doesn’t touch people like it should.
But God sees everything.
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvellous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb"
(Psalm 139:13-15 New Living Translation NLT).
I doubt that those who were tricked into voting ‘yes’ in the referendum in 2018, ever thought it would come to this. People were led to believe that it would only be the odd pregnancy ended here and there; like if the mother’s life were in danger. They talk about population decline – sixty thousand is the population of Waterford City, that’s a lot of children not given the chance of life. The figure worldwide is about seventy-three million abortions EVERY year. Of course there are people who benefit from it: it’s a lucrative industry - selling aborted body parts and tissue for research. It does not empower women but is a marketplace of rampant greed.
The lies and manipulations by those who push for abortion are now being exposed, and hopefully the people of Ireland will arise and demand its end. It is not healthcare and is not good for any mother – evidenced in scientific studies of female mental health problems and depression post-abortion, and also from personal testimonies; and it’s certainly not good for the innocent babies.
To think that in our hospitals babies are being born alive after surviving the violence of the abortion procedure; and then left to die without any pain medication, with no medic allowed to comfort that little one as they take their final breath is horrendous, and undignified. It can be minutes or hours of anguish before they succumb to death.
Four of the one hundred and eight babies born alive after the abortion were over twenty-four weeks - with no indication of any congenital anomaly. I believe forty seven were over 19 weeks. If this were happening to animals, there would be protests and riots nationwide - and rightfully so. Sadly, animals are given more protection and comfort than human babies. It is completely unacceptable and inhumane. And don’t forget the majority of our public representatives voted for no pain relief for babies during abortions. This whole thing is a modern-day wicked scandal and a source of curse upon our nation (Proverbs 26:2; Proverbs 6:16-17).
